We've revised the original 2 day Cape of Good Hope route to offer a more gentle hike combined with magnificent coastal scenery, fynbos and wildlife. The perfect weekend getaway to set your spirit free, unwind and re-connect with nature.

Summary Itinerary

This relaxing 16 km long 1.5-day hike in the world-renown Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve on the tip of the Cape Peninsula, offers the best of both worlds! Gentle hiking combined with magnificent coastal scenery, fynbos and wildlife. It is the perfect multi-day hike for novices and those looking to unwind and re-connect with nature.

Spaces are limited to 5 participants. Hikers carry only day-packs with the necessary food water and gear needed during the day. 

Included

  • 1 nights shared accommodation in self-catering and equipped open-plan hiker's hut with bunk beds and gas stove

  • Porterage of maximum 9kg of food, drinks and luggage per guest to and from the hut, packed for porterage as per packing instructions in itinerary

  • Transport by Tuk-Tuk from the Cape of Good Hope entrance gate to the start of the trail on day 1

  • Transport by Tuk-Tuk from the end of the trail on day 2 to the Cape of Good Hope entrance gate.

  • Detailed day-to-day itinerary and detailed packing list

  • Experienced, registered mountain hiking guide with First Aid kit and Satellite Messenger Device

  • Entrance fees and hiking permits where necessary 

  • Coffee/tea at lunch breaks

Hikers to provide own

  • Lunch, snacks and water for during the day and carry these in their daypacks

  • Breakfast, dinner and drinks

  • Sleeping bags, pillows, towels, headlamps, personal medication and toiletries

Excluded

  • Any food/drinks/etc. for porterage over 9kg 

  • All food, drinks, snacks etc. not set out in the itinerary 

  • Airport transfers 

  • Transfers to and from the meeting point at the entrance of the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve

  • Personal travel, medical and baggage insurance (compulsory)

How does it work?

There are only limited spaces available for the June 2025 hike which Santie will personally be guiding. We will be hiking along magnificent easier coastal mountain footpaths on both days, the group sticking together to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable hike. In the evening we will cook together and enjoy dinner and the quiet of this remote peninsula from the balcony of the hut.
