Du Toitskop Hike
Medium-length Adventurous Hike
A challenging ascent to extraordinary views and down again via a breath-taking fynbos-clad valley with streams.
Du Toitskop offers an exhilarating challenge as we ascend up a steep mountainous footpath following a ridgeline all the way to the summit. At 1415m above sea level, Du Toitskop is the second highest peak in Mont Rochelle, and on a clear day the views across the Wemmershoek mountains, Simonsberg and Table Mountain in the distance are truly spectacular. The descent to the Uitkyk viewpoint is steep, but rewards with more spectacular views into the deep and magnificent Wemmershoek Valley. The final stretch is a gradually descending footpath along a beautiful fynbos-clad valley back to the start.
